Why We Built This
A few years ago, our family faced a situation that many Florida families know well. My aunt and uncle both needed care — at nearly the same time, in different ways. My aunt was showing signs of memory loss that had progressed to the point where she needed a secure, specialized environment. My uncle needed assisted living support after a health setback made living independently unsafe.
We spent weeks trying to find reliable information. We searched online and found national directories full of sponsored results, fabricated reviews, and listings that hadn't been updated in years. We called communities and got sales pitches. We found government licensing databases but couldn't make sense of them. We asked friends and got well-meaning but incomplete advice.
What we needed — and couldn't find — was a single, honest, Florida-focused resource that explained our options clearly, helped us understand what questions to ask, and let us connect with communities without pressure.
