Assisted Living Facilities are popular because they are less restrictive and less expensive than a nursing home, which is the last place many older adults want to go. Care givers today are less likely to choose the nursing home option unless it is medically necessary.

Placing residents in the more home-like environment of a good assisted living facility has been shown to foster a greater degree of self-sufficiency among residents, lower costs, and a higher sense of self-esteem. While assisted living facilities cannot offer the full freedom of independent living, they are much less restrictive than a nursing home environment. By offering a new set of options, residential assisted living bridges the gap between independent living and nursing home care.

Assisted Living Facilities in Florida can provide not only a safe, friendly environment for its residents but a second lease on life. Care givers may feel guilty that its their responsibility to care for their elderly parents or spouse.  But relationships can blossom with mutual respect and without guilt.
